Walt Disney World® Golf Blog

Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is proud to again be participating in Patriot Golf Day 2017, over the extended Labor Day Weekend from Friday, September 1, through Monday, September 4.

Patriot Golf Day supports the work of Folds of Honor, which was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 Fighter Pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, who served during multiple combat tours in Iraq.

Folds of Honor’s Mission Statement:

“Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower military families by providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

Of the one million-plus dependents adversely affected by deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, over 87% do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance.
We assist those by providing annual educational scholarships in $5,000 increments. Our programs help support private education for elementary, middle, and high school students as well as higher education opportunities for spouses and children.”

Folds of Honor has now awarded over 13,000 scholarships.

During the Labor Day Weekend, Walt Disney World® Golf will proudly contribute $2.00 per golf round played to Folds of Honor to support their ongoing efforts to provide these valuable scholarships.

We look forward to welcoming you to the “Happiest Place on TURF!”
